Meinl Cymbals Byzance 21″ Dark Ride — Made in Turkey — Hand Hammered B20 Bronze, B21DAR by Meinl Cymbals. Hand hammered in Turkey from cast B20 Bronze — dark definition is paramount with this Ride — it has a strong feel that is loaded with clarity, cut and a healthy dose of intricate, shadowy tone. Unlathed surfaces — by not filing these cymbals down, so to speak, they are left with a bold and definitive dark attack with a mellow sustain that gets out of your way. Explosive power with nuanced tone — Byzance Dark cymbals have a chameleon-like ability to weave into any style — power meets a carefully blended dark tonal range. A unique line in the Byzance family — the degree of darkness these cymbals provide, along with the smooth sustain, puts them in a unique sweet spot between Byzance Traditional and Extra Dry. Modern versatility rooted in tradition — Meinl Byzance cymbals are deeply rooted in traditional cymbal crafting methods, yet their old-world background is dialed-in to 21st century needs. Match your heros — Meinl Cymbals are used by pro drummers like Benny Greb, Anika Nilles, Mike Johnston, Matt Garstka, Stu Fagan, Craig Reynolds or Robert Sput Searight. When power is met with a carefully blended dark tonal range through extensive hand hammering, your cymbal playing can go virtually anywhere. Byzance Dark cymbals are hand hammered and completely unlathed, exposing the raw B20 bronze with an oven-blackened look. The crashes, splashes and chinas open up just enough, then get out of your way quickly while the hihats and rides provide clarity, cut and volume, along with a prominent dark tone. A special selection within Byzance Dark are the Spectrum hihats and rides that are partially lathed for more definition.
